Internet of things (or IoT) is a neologism referring to the extension of the Internet to the world of objects and physical spaces. Objects (the "things") become recognizable and acquire intelligence thanks to the fact that they can share information about themselves and access data collected from others. There are many fields of application: from industrial(production processes), logistics and motion information, to energy efficiency, remote assistance and environmental protection.
